Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha was the chief guest at foundation stone laying ceremony. According to the Ministry of Labour and Employment, the four-storied, 100 bedded hospital will be built over an area of five acres and will provide services covering 23 specialities and three super specialities. The facility will come up at an expenditure of Rs 160 crores and is expected to be completed in the next one and a half years. Besides covering registered Insured Persons (IPs), the healthcare facilities will also be available to the general population. Speaking on the occasion, Gangwar said that ESIC has been working for the past 66 years and has a presence in over 80 per cent of the districts of the country. He said that Srinagar has around 20,000 IPs and they deserve the best healthcare as is available to their counterparts in other regions of the country.

Budgam (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], December 22 (ANI): Minister of State (I/C) for Labour and Employment Santosh Kumar Gangwar on Monday laid the foundation stone of 100 bedded Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Hospital at Ompura, Budgam.

Gupkar alliance clear winner but plenty of positives for BJP, in the J&K DDC polls. Counting still underway.
The counting of votes for the District Development Council (DDC) elections in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday gave a clear lead to the People s Alliance For Gupkar Declaration (PAGD). Of the 280 seats that went to polls for the DDC elections the leads on 258 seats have indicated that the Kashmir-based amalgam of the mainstream parties, the PAGD, has either won or is leading on 107 segments, the BJP leading on 65 segments, the Congress on 22, Apni Party which was launched after the abrogation of Article 370 on 10 and others on 54 segments. While the Gupkar alliance is emerging a clear, there are many positives for the BJP also.Â
JK Reports 308 New Positive Cases, Tally Reaches 118803
SRINAGAR: The Government on Tuesday informed that308 new positive cases of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), 174 from Jammu division and 134 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 118803. Also 06 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; 05 from Jammu division and 01 from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 281 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 111 from Jammu Division and 170 from Kashmir Division.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Coronavirus (Covid-19), out of 118803 positive cases, 3646 are Active Positive, 113307 have recovered and 1850 have died; 681 in Jammu division and 1169 in Kashmir division.
