KASHMIR: For the period of the deferment of the annual darbar move for the summer session 2021, the Jammu and Kashmir government on Monday finalized arrangements for offices moving in full and in camp.
The government has issued an order in this regard here today which is in continuation to its earlier order number 354-JK(GAD) of 2021 dated 20.04.2021, and keeping in view the decision taken to defer the annual darbar move for the summer session 2021 because of recent COVID-19 situation in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir along with the decision for stationing secretariat departments/staff vide government order number 365-JK(GAD) of 2021 dated 25.04.2021.

JAMMU, Apr 25: The concerned departments of the Government of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir are dilly-dallying on submission of details for Geographical Indication (GI) tagging of locally produced products and goods despite ample opportunity given by the Industries and Commerce Department and being aware of the fact that such an initiative would help the people affiliated with the job to get good amount in international markets.
Due to this, the Industries and Commerce Department is finding it difficult to furnish the requisite information to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, which is more than keen to extend necessary help to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on this aspect.

During the session “”Advantage J&K – Opportunities for IT & ITES Sector”, Ankita Kar, Managing Director, Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization & Jammu and Kashmir IT Infrastructure Development Company shared strengths of the region and Government support to incentivize the investors and business enterprises. She highlighted the benefits of promoting IT/ITES sector in terms of tax , financial support and advantages of having skilled manpower in the region.
Regarding promoting women entrepreneurs, Kar said that IT Parks shall be 15 per cent reserved for women entrepreneurs.
Ankita Kar said, “The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is working in tandem with Government of India to promote startup culture and encourage women entrepreneurs. As a women I always feel safe in Jammu and Kashmir and would invite women to set up their businesses in this region.”
