Mumbai, April 20 : Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has tweaked its manufacturing process at the Jamnagar Refinery to produce and distribute around 700 metric tonnes of medical grade oxygen everyday to three states and a Union Territory, official sources said here on Tuesday.
The 700 tonnes of oxygen is being ferried daily since the past two days to Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Union Territory of Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli free of cost in special tankers, as per their specific needs. It is sufficient to provide relief to at least 70,000 critically ill Covid-19 patients daily in these states and UTs.

Thane, April 19 : The Mumbai Bharatiya Janata Party President and legislator M. P. Lodha on Monday demanded action against Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad for allegedly threatening Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis after a row erupted over the seizure of a Remdesivir stock on Saturday-Sunday night.
A MLA from Buldhana, Gaikwad created a flutter yesterday by slamming Fadnavis for the Remdesivir incident in Mumbai and asked him what he would have done if he (Fadnavis) had been the chief minister during the pandemic.

Mumbai, April 9 : Amid a major vaccine-war with the Centre, it has emerged that Maharashtra continues to fly high in terms of the inoculation drive despite having nearly-exhausted its stocks, officials said here on Friday.
As per the latest data released for April 9 (today), the state has administered the highest 93,38,531 jabs, comprising 84,35,010 first doses and 903,521 second doses, making it the best performer in the national vaccination programme, officials pointed out.
The state is followed by Rajasthan with 88,07,351 vaccinations comprising 77,72,197 first jabs and 10,35,194 second doses.

Maharashtra has become the first state in
India to cross the landmark 8,00,000 vaccination jabs from January 16 till date, according to official data released here on Tuesday.
The state which has the highest number of corona cases and fatalities has achieved a total vaccination of 81,27,248, including 72,98,206 people who have taken their first jab and 8,29,042 second dose.
Next on the list are Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal with the maximum number of people given the jabs till now.
Gujarat has notched a total 76,89,507 (68,17,703 first dose and 8,71,804 second dose), Rajasthan tally is 72,99,305 (64,00,581 and 8,98,724).
