As many as 480 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Gujarat, taking the tally to 2,71,725 on Thursday, while no new death related to the infection was reported, the health department said.
With the addition of 480 new cases, the state s COVID-19 tally rose to 2,71,725, while the death toll remained unchanged at 4,412 as no infected patient died during the last 24 hours, said a release by the health department.

New Delhi: Gujarat government on Wednesday presented its annual budget amid coronavirus pandemic. Finance minister Nitinbhai Patel announced allocation of Rs 1,500 crore to develop the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train.
Note that Railway Minister Piyush Goyal recently stated that a new completion schedule for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train will be worked out as the original completion deadline of 2023 may not be met due to delay in land acquisition for the project in Maharashtra.

Gujarat reported 427 new coronavirus cases on Monday, taking its COVID-19 tally to 2,70,316, while 360 more patients recovered from the infection, the state health department said.
The state recorded just one COVID-19-related death in Ahmedabad pushing the number of fatalities to 4,411, said the department in A release.
With 360 more patients getting discharged from hospitals during the day, the count of recovered cases rose to 2,63,476, it said.
Dadra and Nagar Haveli Lok Sabha member Mohan Delkar was found dead at a high-end Mumbai hotel on Monday. Even as a suicide note was recovered from Delkar s room, the police is probing the case from all possible angles.
