Two days
after he joined Trinamool Congress, former union minister Yashwant Sinha was on Monday appointed party vice president. He was also made a member of the TMC national working committee.
Yashwant Sinha, who was a Cabinet minister under former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, joined the TMC on Saturday. After joining the TMC, Sinha said the tipping point to force him to come back to active party politics was the attack on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at Nandigram.
BJP Kerala chief K Surendran on Saturday said the party will fight on 115 seats and its allies will contest the remaining 25 seats in the upcoming Kerala Assembly polls.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) will face massive defeat during the upcoming elections. Chairing a meeting of the BJP s central election committee, the prime minister told leaders the TMC will come to face with its defeat by the end of the second phase elections in West Bengal.Â
The Bharatiya Janata Party s central election committee held its meeting on Saturday to finalise its remaining candidates for the Assam and West Bengal assembly polls. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was among other top party leaders to attend the meeting. Other top leaders who attended the meeting at the BJP headquarters, included Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and party president JP Nadda.

Bharatiya Janata Party s Central Election Committee is scheduled to hold a meeting today to finalise a list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly polls, sources said. BJP Central Election Committee to hold a meeting tomorrow to discuss the names of candidates for the upcoming Assembly polls in 4 states and one UT, sources said.
Initial discussion to shortlist names of the party candidates for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly polls started at BJP chief JP Nadda s residence on Thursday.
Senior leaders from the state, party in-charge and co-in-charge for West Bengal attended the meeting. Union Home Minister Amit Shah also reached Nadda s residence.
