CM V Narayanasamy government plunged into crisis with five Congress MLAs and a DMK MLA s resignation in the last 30 days. One MLA was disqualified last month.
NEW DELHI: Puducherry chief minister V Narayanasamy on Monday lost the floor test held in Puducherry Assembly following which he submitted his resignation to lieutenant governor Tamilisai Soundararajan.
The floor test was necessitated due to a spate of resignations by Congress and DMK MLAs over the past one month that resulted in the government losing majority in the 30-member House.
Assembly speaker VP Sivakolundhu announced that the chief minister has failed to prove his majority and adjourned the house sine die.
