Most political parties on Thursday rejected the proposed national budget for 2021-22 fiscal year saying that it was not pro-people, would not serve public interests, would encourage corruption and it had no guidelines for building a strong economy overcoming the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
The parties, in their immediate reaction to the proposed budget, were critical of the government and said that the allocation in important sectors including health, agriculture, job creation and education was not enough to tackle the present crisis.
Ruling Awami League, however, welcomed the budget and said that the proposed budget would help people to be courageous during the present situation of the Covid outbreak.
