SAN ANTONIO – Workforce Solutions Alamo is hosting three COVID-19 pop-up vaccine clinics in partnership with Metro Health and the San Antonio Fire Department.
The first clinic will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, May 24, at the WSA Career Center at 3652 Bluemel Road.
The second clinic will be held 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, at the WSA Career Center at 6723 South Flores St. #100.
The third clinic will be held 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, at the WSA Career Center at 4535 East Houston St.

SAN ANTONIO – Carl McKinney lost his job laying water pipes in March 2020 as the pandemic ramped up in San Antonio.
Since then, the extra unemployment assistance he’s received from the federal government, on top of the $194 he gets weekly from the state, has helped him get by.
“It’s been helpful,” McKinney said. “You know what I mean? Put money in my pocket you know what I’m saying? Pay a little bills every now and then.”

Hospitality industry in San Antonio looking to hire; 2-day job fair begins Tuesday
SAN ANTONIO – The COVID-19 pandemic has had a big impact on our local economy but as we return to normal, more and more jobs are becoming available.
A new issue is that local hotels and restaurants are now having issues filling open jobs.
“The last year’s been a challenge, especially in the hospitality industry. We went from having absolutely no guests, you know, from being actually very busy, very full one day to having, you know, guests completely empty for a good three or four months,” Stacy Seaborn, Director of Sales and Marketing with Hotel Valencia said.

(Seguin) – Looking for a job just got an upgrade here in Seguin. Workforce Solutions Alamo (WSA) recently celebrated the opening of its newly relocated renovated Seguin Career Center. The office, originally located at Crossroads Mall across from Alamo Group, is now open for job seekers in the Plaza Del Rey Shopping Center at 1411 E. Court Street.
The celebration, which included a ribbon cutting, marks the third renovation for Workforce Solution Alamo’s 11 rural career centers.
