Patrick O’Hagan, Chattanooga State’s interim director of the Kimball Site and program manager for contract training in the Economic & Workforce Development Division, was selected as a member of the Leadership Tennessee NEXT Class III (LTN).
As one of 29 up-and-coming chosen professionals for the third cohort of Leadership Tennessee NEXT, Mr. O’Hagan will grow his professional skills and network with state leaders to address issues of state importance to help build a stronger Tennessee.

Columbia Chamber of Commerce to launch Workforce Development Division in 2021

The Columbia Chamber of Commerce is launching the Workforce Development Division to retain talent in Columbia and to build a workforce for tomorrow.
“We have heard from our business community, the City, and the County, that this is a need. The goal is not to duplicate what is being done already in workforce development, but to collaborate and capitalize on what is being accomplished,” says Chamber President and CEO Matt McCormick. “Columbia needs a convener to help push our community forward. We are proud to fill that role.”

A new Workforce Development Division is meant to retain talent in Columbia while helping to build a strong workforce for tomorrow, according to a news release from the Columbia Chamber of Commerce.
Mary Kate Hafner, the director of communications and marketing for the chamber, said that the division s goals are to develop partnerships to further workforce development, collaborate with the business community in mid-Missouri and develop programming.
The steering committee for the division is composed of more than 12 individuals from various industries including healthcare, finance, education, manufacturing and construction, according to the release.
The program was originally meant to launch in March, Hafner said, but was put on pause due to the pandemic.
