zimmytws New York Governor Andrew Cuomo March 2 announced The Broome County Urban League, Broome Tioga Workforce, Buckingham Manufacturing, Fortitude Industries and Owego Apalachin School District are among 75 institutions getting money from the New York State Workforce Development Initiative. The program supports job training and employment opportunities in high-demand industries. The New York State Department of Labor, Empire State Development and the Energy Research and Development Authority provided a combined $9.5 million in funding to allow companies to provide job training and create new jobs. Advanced Tool Inc. in Marcy and Northland Communications in Holland Patent were two of the 75 businesses and organizations awarded funding through the initiative. We re providing greater economic opportunity to New Yorkers and addressing the business needs of companies committed to growing here, and these awards will help companies across the state train workers in marketable skills that they can use to get good jobs and help move New York s economy forward,” said Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
