is set to benefit from an increase in average selling prices (ASPs) over the course of its current financial year, in view of the global glove shortage.
CGS-CIMB said in a report the company expected its glove ASPs to rise by 50% quarter-on-quarter in the third quarter of its current financial year ending March 2021, as well as a 40% quarter-on-quarter increase in the fourth quarter.
“Hartalega is also of the view that ASPs could still increase from the first quarter of 2022, given the current severe shortage in global glove supply.
“In our view, Hartalega’s ASPs will still lag behind its peers in the second quarter of 2022.”

A FURNITURE factory in Air Tawar, Merlimau near Jasin, was found to have committed various offences involving safety, hygiene and maintenance under the Workers’ Minimum Standards of Housing and Amenities Act 1990 (Act 446).
Department of Labour Peninsular Malaysia (JTKSM)’s Legal and Enforcement Division director Zaini Yaacob said that among the offences were that the factory didn’t have any accommodation certification, didn’t provide suitable accommodation to employees and didn’t provide first-aid boxes and rubbish bins.

He also mentions that details of the NVP would be finalised on Thursday (7 January). The NVP is said to provide the public with information on when, where and how to attain the vaccine as well as the logistics of the program.
Employers to pay for Covid-19 vaccination
Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan said that it was compulsory for employers to cover the cost and fees of their employee’s Covid-19 vaccinations and screenings.

PETALING JAYA: Brightway Holdings and two of its subsidiaries in Selangor will be facing 30 charges in court for alleged offences under the Workers’ Minimum Standards of Housing and Amenities Act 1990 (Act 446), says the Human Resources Ministry.
The ministry said the Peninsular Malaysia Labour Department was in the process of completing investigation papers and filing 22 charges against Brightway and its Klang-based subsidiary, Biopro (M) Sdn Bhd.
Its subsidiary, La Glove (M) Sdn Bhd in Kajang, will be facing up to eight charges under the same Act, the ministry added.
“Among the offences is the failure of the employer to obtain a Certificate of Accommodation from the department’s director-general under Section 24D of Act 446.
