Brisbane lockdown extended, as NT and WA consider lifting restrictions

Businesses in Brisbane and Moreton Bay will remain in lockdown for another 24 hours, while the Northern Territory lockdown will end today and an announcement will be made soon about the lockdown in Western Australia.
Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said on Friday morning the extension following the detection of three more cases of community transmission in Queensland on Thursday.
However, the three-day lockdown will end at 6pm on Friday evening for other parts of Queensland, including Noosa, the Sunshine Coast, Ipswich, Logan, Redlands, Gold Coast, Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim, Somerset, Palm Island and Townsville.

Small businesses in Queensland are demanding the state government offer them financial support, after most of the state was thrown into a three-day COVID-19 lockdown on Tuesday evening.
Under the restrictions, thousands of non-essential businesses have been forced to close while restaurants and cafes can open for takeaway services. Residents are only allowed to leave their homes for essential purposes.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland (CCIQ) has urged the state government to give businesses grants of up to $25,000 to cover loss of stock and trade.
