Advisor Baseer Khan chairs 105th BoDs meeting of Jammu and Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board

  SRINAGAR : Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan today chaired the 105th Board of Directors meeting of Jammu and Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board (JK-KVIB) at Sanat Ghar Bemina. Vice Chairperson, JKKVIB, Dr Hina Bhat; Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce Ranjan Prakash Thakur, Secretary in Rural Development Department Ms. Rifat Arif, Director Handicrafts and Handloom Kashmir, Registrar Cooperatives, Director Industries & Commerce Jammu, Director Industries & Commerce Kashmir, Director MSME and Secretary KVIB participated in the meeting. The Advisor directed the Board to extend hand holding to the educated unemployed youth of the UT, so that they can avail benefits from various schemes being implemented under the purview of Khadi and Village Industries sector.

Singh s statement comes amidst several farmers protesting on Delhi s borders since November seeking repeal of three new farm laws. Addressing the annual Five-day National Horticulture Fair 2021 organised by the ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR), Bengaluru virtually, Singh said that by eliminating middlemen, farmers will receive a larger share of profit for their produce. These laws have great potential for horticulture crop diversification and farmers are going to realise a better price in the future, he contended

₹100 cr for expatriate employment scheme

Protective cover for NoRK returnees The Budget envisages an integrated expatriate employment scheme for protecting NoRK (non-resident Keralites) returnees who lost their jobs due to the changing labour laws in the Gulf countries and the COVID-19 pandemic. An outlay of ₹100 crore is earmarked for the scheme. In his Budget speech, Finance Minister T.M. Thomas Isaac said priority would be given to the expatriate returnees in four schemes, namely Digital Employment Scheme for the Educated, Loan based Entrepreneurial Development Programmes, Service Providing Societies, and Marketing Network. Skill development training would be provided to the returnees so as to help them go abroad again, he noted.
