This includes installation of sanitizers at all entry points, reception desk, all common areas, washrooms, corridors, etc., posters have been put up regarding all the rules and safety measures all across the campus and on every wing and floor of all the buildings, the security person at the entrance checks everyone s temperature and looks out for any symptoms like cough, cold or fever. Anyone showing any such symptoms is not permitted to enter the premises.”

For students who moved out of the city during the lockdown, an option of online classes will be made available. The 75 per cent compulsory attendance rule has been waived off this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, informed Samant. The Minister further said the colleges will have to strictly followed the standard operating procedure (SOPs) with respect to the COVID-19 pandemic. Speaking about the examinations, Samant said the universities will have to take a decision regarding conducting exams online or offline. As far as the reopening of hostels is concerned, Samant had earlier said that will be done in phases as there are still some hostels that are converted into quarantine centres.
