With a combined 73 years of service to the Mitchell School District, two local educators were recognized this week ahead of their upcoming retirement from education.
Mitchell High School science teacher Terry Aslesen and guidance counselor Kathy Mills were honored by administrators, fellow teachers, friends and family on Wednesday during an employee recognition ceremony. Employees at Mitchell High School, Mitchell Middle School and the Mitchell Career and Technical Education Academy were also honored for meeting landmarks for years of service

Among the long list of items on this week’s Dickinson City Commission agenda, representatives from JLG Architects provided the city with an update on the Dickinson Town Square project.
The Dickinson City Commission met Wednesday, April 21, at City Hall, and voted to unanimously approve the design development phase documents for the Dickinson Town Square. Construction bids for the project are tentatively scheduled for mid-June with the planning to move forward with construction by fall. By the summer of 2022, the Dickinson Town Square is projected
Old Haliburton Complex to Become Southwest CTE Academy
Several schools in southwest North Dakota are working with lawmakers, industry representatives and communities to turn a former Halliburton complex into a multi-million dollar training ground for technical careers.
April 22, 2021 • (TNS) A joint effort between Dickinson Public Schools, other area schools, legislators, industry representatives and community members have transformed the former Halliburton complex into the Southwest Career and Technical Education Academy. Currently, officials are awaiting nonprofit status approval from the state and federal government to launch its mission.
Since March of 2020, DPS, Dickinson State University, Trinity Catholic Schools, the Roughrider Area Career and Technical Center have teamed up to create a task force of 22 members to jumpstart the project. The task force has held 19 meetings and numerous subcommittee meetings that developed tentative
