The first award for lifetime achievement in mentoring goes to Hanah Margalit, professor in the faculty of medicine at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The second award for mid-career mentoring achievement goes jointly to Neta Erez, professor at the Sakler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, and Tal Pupko, professor at The Shmunis School of Biomedicine and Cancer Research, Tel Aviv University. Share this article Share this article TEL AVIV, Israel, Dec. 21, 2020 /PRNewswire/ Israel-based Moebius Medical today announced that the US Food and Drug administration (FDA) has cleared their Investigational New Drug (IND) application to initiate a global multi-center Phase IIb clinical trial of MM-II, a novel candidate for the treatment of pain in knee osteoarthritis (OA). The planned Phase IIb clinical trial, is a randomized, double-blind, dose-ranging, placebo-controlled study designed to determine the efficacy and safety of various doses of MM-II in subjects with symptomatic knee OA as compared to placebo. The primary endpoint is a reduction in pain from baseline as measured according to Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) A pain score at 12 weeks. Enrollment of the trial s 312 subjects is expected to begin in US, Europe and Asia by the end of 2020, and top-line data is expected to be available in mid-2022.
