Treats the staffs of Wiscasset Elementary and Middle High schools received last week were a thank you from parents. And staff members told Wiscasset Newspaper they appreciated it.
WES fifth grade teacher Justin Stygles said in an email response, “For one who is trying to kick a Coke-a-cola habit, the apple juice was a welcome gesture. It s been a trying year, since March 13. There s a lot of tension, which is hard for all of us, including parents, to deal with. The token of appreciation is humbling and appreciated.

Fricke named MPHS school principal

Heather Fricke was recently named the principal at Mount Pulaski High School. She will serve in the position for the 2021-2022 school and replaces Terry Morgan who retired.
Fricke, who has served as the Technology Coordinator for the Mount Pulaski School District 23, recently completed a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership with a principal endorsement from the University of Illinois Springfield.
Fricke, a 1993 graduate of MPHS, said she is honored to serve and hopes to keep the MPHS experience active. When I think back on my own days at MPHS, I actually think of several things that I don’t want to change because my high school experience is part of what led me to where I am today. We are still a building with faculty and staff members who work diligently to do what is best for students. INEOS TEAM UK needed accurate measurements of speed through water while training for the America’s Cup in waters with complex current flows. How did Nortek’s acoustic Doppler instrumentation meet their stringent demands for high performance?
INEOS TEAM UK was formed to challenge for the 36th America’s Cup, to be held in New Zealand in 2021. They will compete in their new AC75 yacht named Britannia, a foiling monohull that flies over water on T-foils at speeds up to or exceeding 50 knots.
The team represent the Royal Yacht Squadron, one of the most prestigious yacht clubs in the world, and are based out of Portsmouth on the south coast of Britain, using the Solent as their training waters.
