Remember SPACs? Market Focuses on Earnings An expected quiet day in SPAC land, at least there was one deal announcement, as the market was undoubtedly more focused on big tech earnings. Author: Apr 27, 2021 Up and down day for stocks as the market was focused on mega-cap earnings reports due from the likes of MSFT, AMD, and GOOG. The tech heavy Nasdaq 100 dipped, while the S&P500 was relatively flat. Unsurprisingly, there was little mainstream attention towards SPACs today, although this morning did see a late deal announcement bringing the week s total to two. Expect deal flow to remain muted for the time being.

IPIN Director, Mr. Damilola Amore, said the global event would be marked with a symposium on Monday, 26th April via Zoom. He added that the event which would be marked all over the world will focus on helping small and medium scale businesses grow their intellectual assets. He said speakers at the event would discuss ways in which Nigerian Businesses can benefit from and protect their Intellectual Property.

Alhaji Mohammed Abdullahi, Minister of State for Science and Technology, said this on Tuesday in Abuja, when he received the team of Next Wear Technology Hub in his office. ”This smart bra project was developed by the Next Wear Technology, its revolutionary and going to be very supportive of the Federal Government efforts in addressing health challenges. “What I can assure is that the Federal Government will do the best it can to support this technology,’’ Abdullahi said.

Another Good Deal Pop Shows a Healthier SPAC Market It may start to feel boring for investors, but the SPAC market is getting healthy and that continues to provide opportunities for patient yield + optionality plays. BCTG had a good deal pop of almost 8%. VIH / Bakkt took a big hit (-12%) following the Coinbase IPO. Author: BCTG Acquisition Corp (BCTG) taking Tango Therapeutics public in a $350M deal and then a rare late afternoon announcement from  Roth CH Acquisition II (ROCC) who is taking music company Reservoir public in a $788M deal. BCTG was well received popping 7.94% through the close and up another 1.65% in after hours trading.
