Bangladesh Freelancer Development Society (BFDS) has officially launched across the country. Recently, the organisation started its journey by forming a district committee at the Sheikh Hasina Software Technology Park Auditorium in Jashore. The organisation will work in different districts of the country by forming committees continuously.
On November 25 last year, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina officially inaugurated the issuance of virtual ID cards to ensure the professional identity of six and a half lakh freelancers in the country. BFDS is working to organise these freelancers across the country. We are starting work across the country. Bangladesh Freelancer Development Society will take new initiatives for the development of freelancers, said Tanjiba Rahman, Chairman of BFDS.
Sony to produce smart TVs in Bangladesh

Japanese electronics giant Sony is going to manufacture smart television sets in Bangladesh.
Sony’s local franchisee Rangs Electronics will set up five factories at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Hi-Tech Park in Sylhet to produce different electronic products including Sony smart TV sets.
Rangs Electronics signed an agreement with Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA) in this regard on Sunday.
State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak attended the signing ceremony as the chief guest at Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka.
Hi-tech Park Project Director Golam Sarwar Bhuiyan and Rangs Electronics Chairman Aktar Hussain were also present.
Salman for changing mindset on tax paying

DHAKA, Feb 25, 2021 (BSS) – Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman today underscored the need for changing the mindset about paying taxes to increase tax-GDP ratio for inclusive development.
“For an inclusive development, the country’s revenue generation is more important. In this regard, it is essential to change the mindset – we have to pay tax and we have to build the nation,” he said.
Salman said this while meeting with Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) President Rizwan Rahman and members of DCCI board of directors in the city, said a press release.

A hi-tech park will be set up at Korean Export Processing Zone (KEPZ) in Chattogram, which is owned by Korean global business conglomerate Youngone.
The KEPZ will develop 100 acres out of 2,492 acres of land to set up the country s first privately-owned IT and hi-tech park.
A tripartite agreement was signed among Bangladesh High-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA), the KEPZ and Startup Bangladesh at the zone yesterday to develop a high-tech industry and innovation ecosystem, says a press release.
Cooperation will focus on developing infrastructures, increasing foreign investment, strengthening the start-up ecosystem and support entrepreneurs through upskilling by way of startup camps, design thinking and innovation projects.
UNIBATOR connects world top tech giants google, facebook, microsoft

DHAKA, Feb 13, 2021 (BSS) – Representatives of world’s top tech giants including google, facebook and Microsoft have joined virtually the guest sessions and panel discussions of a four-day Unibator Mentor Development Camp, an initiative to build startup mentors.
Participants of the camp hoped the initiative would play a crucial role to the development of startup ecosystem in Bangladesh as representatives of world’s top technological companies as well as officials of government’s policymaking level are joining it and giving suggestions.
Sheikh Kamal IT Business Incubator Project, CUET under Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA) and Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) arranged the camp, first of its kind in Bangladesh, at IEB Dhaka centre with the participation of university level teachers.
