IBM fastracks plan to partner with IT firms for hybrid cloud services

Pune: International Business Machines Corp. (IBM) is accelerating its plans to partner with IT services companies to take its OpenShift platform to their customers. After Arvind Krishna took charge as CEO in April 2020, the company placed its bets on the Red Hat OpenShift platform that it had acquired a few years ago.
NEW DELHI: Nifty IT index was trading with losses at 01:40PM (IST) on Tuesday. Shares of Info Edge (India) (down 8.84 per cent), Mindtree (down 2.3 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech (down 1.79 per cent), Infosys (down 1.12 per cent) and Tata Consultancy (down 1.09 per cent) were the top losers in the index. While Coforge (up 0.51 per cent), Tech Mahindra (up 0.44 per cent) and MPhasis (up 0.12 per cent) were among the top gainers. The Nifty IT index was trading 1.65 per cent down at 25571.4 around 01:40PM. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 28.65 points at 15286.05, while the BSE Sensex was down 145.98 points at 52008.15. Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.
Information Technology stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE IT Sector index rising 410.88 points or 1.59% at 26274.38 at 09:48 IST. Among the components of the S&P BSE IT Sector index, Majesco Ltd (up 4.99%), 3i Infotech Ltd (up 4.98%),Wipro Ltd (up 2.8%),Tanla Platforms Ltd (up 2.69%),Mastek Ltd (up 2.66%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were D-Link India Ltd (up 2.35%), Tech Mahindra Ltd (up 2.2%), NELCO Ltd (up 2.17%), Infosys Ltd (up 2.16%), and Cigniti Technologies Ltd (up 2.12%). On the other hand, TVS Electronics Ltd (down 3.47%), Brightcom Group Ltd (down 3.21%), and Indiamart Intermesh Ltd (down 1.84%) moved lower.
At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 95.88 or 0.19% at 51627.4.

IT services major Tech Mahindra on Friday named Milind Kulkarni as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Kulkarni, whose appointment is effective April 2, 2021, will take over from the current CFO Manoj Bhat, a statement said.
Bhat is taking over as the Group Chief Financial Officer of M&M Group as part of the leadership rotation strategy, it added. It s been a pleasure working with Manoj over the years, and I wish him all the best in his new role as the M&M Group s Chief Financial Officer, Tech Mahindra Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer CP Gurnani said.
