Applications under the Government’s $1.3 billion Modern Manufacturing Initiative also opened today to projects in the priority area, to help manufacturers scale-up production, commercialise products and tap into global supply chains.

CO2CRC CO2CRC launches technical advisory and consultancy services company – CO2Tech CO2CRC’s Chief Executive, David Byers, announced today that CO2CRC has established a wholly-owned subsidiary company, CO2Tech Pty Ltd (‘CO2Tech’). “We have established CO2Tech to meet the growing customer need for multi-disciplinary technical consultation, advisory and project management services across the whole CCUS value chain.” said Mr Byers. CO2Tech will have access to the Otway International Test Centre (OITC) and CO2CRC’s expertise via commercial agreements. “CO2Tech will allow CO2CRC Limited to offer our industry partners and customers, tailored solutions while preserving commercial confidentiality.

Accelerating carbon capture technologies

Carbon capture projects will get a boost through the Morrison Government’s $50 million Carbon Capture, Use and Storage Development Fund (the Fund), which opens today. Carbon capture and storage technologies are one of five priority areas for investment under the Government’s Technology Investment Roadmap. Minister for Energy and Emissions Reduction Angus Taylor said carbon capture technologies would be critical to achieving net zero emissions from power generation, natural gas and hydrogen production as well as process emissions from heavy industries like cement and fertiliser production. “Australia has the potential to be a world leader in geosequestration. We have the right geology and storage basins,” Minister Taylor said.
