New SBA Funding For Restaurants Opens Next Week | WFAE 90 7 - Charlotte s NPR News Source

WFAE Restaurants, like Arepas Grill in Charlotte, pictured here, can apply for the Restaurant Revitalization Fund starting May 3. Restaurants, food trucks and other businesses in the food industry will be able to apply for federal grant funding next week to help them recover from the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic. The U.S. Small Business Administration is administering the $28.6 billion program, called the Restaurant Revitalization Fund. It’s part of the American Rescue Plan. According to the SBA, food service businesses can receive a grant of $1,000 to $10 million. The most one location can receive is $5 million. Money must be spent on things like payroll costs, rent payments and operating expenses.

Davidson named director of ASUMH s Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center

Kyle Davidson has been named the first director of the Arkansas State University-Mountain Home office of the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC). Davidson came to ASBTDC in April 2021 after more than 20 years in banking, bringing experience in lending, operations, and executive management. He attended Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in agricultural business with an emphasis in finance. He graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University in 2008. The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center at ASUMH serves Baxter, Fulton Izard, Marion, Searcy, and Stone Counties. The ASBTDC serves Arkansans who are starting new businesses, buying established businesses, looking to expand existing businesses, or commercializing research or technology. News No Comments Charlene Fadirepo of Washington, D.C., will lead “Banking in Color: Banking for the Black Entrepreneur,” a four-session virtual boot camp hosted by the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center that begins May 3. Fadirepo is the founder and CEO of Guidefi, a fin-tech startup she launched in 2019. The Guidefi platform connects women and people of color with culturally competent, credible, and affordable financial advisors. She is also a financial educator and banker with two decades of experience in financial services. Fadirepo got her start as a financial analyst at Citigroup. She completed her MBA at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in May 2009. For the next 10 years, she focused her career on making the banking industry more inclusive. After six years as a bank regulation consulting manager for PricewaterhouseCoopers, she joined the Federal Reserve Board of Governors as a bank regulation expert.
