Kenya increases avocado exports Increase in production sees Kenyan avocado exports hit 72,000 tonnes in 2020, with majority heading to European markets Related Articles Xinhua, which cites an unnamed Kenyan government official.  In a seprate interview with Xinhua, Benjamin Tito, head of the Horticultural Crops Directorate, said the increase in export volumes was “partly due to enhanced cultivation of avocado by Kenyan farmers over the past five years.”  Europe is one of the Kenya s major markets for avocados and took the lion share of fruit.  A small volume was exported to China, with Xinhua reporting Kenyan exporters continued to work on meeting the conditions set by the Chinese government to warrant the exports of avocados in large quantities.
