The department received a report of a motorcycle crash at 10:08 p.m. Saturday. Upon arrival, deputies located a 2002 Suzuki GSF 600 in the north ditch. The driver had been ejected from the motorcycle after it overturned going into the ditch and was injured. He succumbed to his injuries, according to the sheriff’s office. Highway 16 was closed for over an hour and the incident remains under investigation. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Monroe County 911 Communications Center, Monroe County Medical Examiner, Tomah Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Oakdale Fire Department, Tomah Area Ambulance Service, Tomah Rescue Technicians and Gundersen Air.

Fatal Weekend Motorcycle Accident in Monroe County On May 8, 2021 at approximately 10:08 P.M., the Monroe County 911 Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a motorcycle crash with injuries on Highway 16 near Hazel Avenue.  Upon arrival, law enforcement located a 2002 Suzuki GSF 600 in the north ditch.  The driver, William M. Neslon (29) of Tomah, had been ejected from the motorcycle after it overturned going into the ditch.  Nelson succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash and was pronounced deceased on scene.  Highway 16 was closed for approximately 1 ½ hours while the crash investigation was completed.  This incident remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and the Monroe County Medical Examiner.

(WKBT) A Tomah woman was cited for drunken driving after a single-vehicle crash in which four people were injured in Monroe County. According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Nicole Ray, 24, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado at about 8 p.m. Wednesday southbound near 26537 Hwy. CA when she lost contol on a curve. The truck rolled twice before coming to rest on its wheels and four of the five occupants were taken in an ambulance to a local hospital. Investigators say alcohol and speed were suspected to be factors. Ray was cite for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated causing injury.

Four hospitalized in Monroe County rollover crash April 15, 2021 10:04 AM Logan Rude TOMAH, Wis. Four people were hospitalized Wednesday night following a rollover crash in rural Monroe County. Authorities with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area near 26537 County Highway CA shortly after 8:15 p.m. for a report of a single vehicle rollover crash. When they arrived, officials determined the vehicle, a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado, was traveling southbound on County Highway CA when the driver failed to keep control of the truck as she negotiated curves in the road. Officials said the truck rolled twice before it came to a rest on its wheels.  Four of the five occupants were taken to an area hospital after the crash.
