Saskatoon Blades lose seven game winning streak to Moose Jaw Warriors

SASKATOON The Saskatoon Blades seven game winning streak has been broken after losing to the Moose Jaw Warriors Friday night. The Warriors set the tone near the end of the first with their first goal from Cole Jordan. The Blades’ head coach Mitch Love got right to the point after the game. “When you get out-worked, you don’t create your own bounces. They out-worked us, they won the game,” he said.

Saskatoon epidemiologist says move to online learning critical in race against COVID-19 variants

SASKATOON Epidemiologist Nazeem Muhajarine says in order to keep all kids and families safe from COVID-19 variants, everyone should be moving to online learning. “We are now racing against the variant and we want to win, not the variants,” he said. “Kids come home to their families and they can bring the virus back home as well as take it to school, to their classrooms, even if they’re distancing from each other.” The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation (STF) is also calling for students across the province to move to remote learning after the Easter break. It comes as all three of Regina’s school divisions announced Thursday that they will continue online learning for an additional two weeks through to April 23.

Sask urges residents to go virtual this Easter weekend as many churches go online

REGINA The Government of Saskatchewan is urging residents to take extreme care heading into the long weekend. “If they are getting together, we ask them to be very diligent because it doesn t take much for to spread through a family spread through a household,” said Paul Merriman, the province’s health minister.       Within the Regina zone, indoor private gatherings are limited to immediate households. People who live alone and single parents of minors are allowed to meet with one consistent household of less than five people. The province is strongly suggesting all Saskatchewan families consider virtual gatherings. “This is again an Easter weekend where we must take care and stay close to our home communities. If we do choose to attend worship services, you know, look at what your attendance options, virtual is always safer than in person,” said Dr. Saqib Shahab, Saskatchewan’s chief medical health officer said Thursday.
