Lane restrictions coming to Adelaide Avenue West

The Region of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions coming to Adelaide Avenue West next week.
Lane restrictions will begin May 25 and will affect a portion of Adelaide Avenue West from Severn Street to Thornton Road North. The lane restrictions will be in place until June 18, according to the region, while workers construct water and sanitary services to support new development.
The region is asking drivers in the area to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
While the region says it realizes that the construction work will be disruptive, they will “make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible.”

The FileBank storage facility on Thornton Road takes care of them all. Jim Henson Productions stores an estimated 69,000 Muppet items here, near the canvas-wrapped racks of off-season costumes for the Metropolitan Opera and the New York City Ballet, just around the corner from centuries of school and municipal records.
Over time, owner Greg Copeland, 83, has devised what he terms a boutique storage service model. His staff can find and transmit one page from 100 years of old records in 15 minutes a service appreciated by the 350 school districts and municipalities that park their physical documents on FileBank shelves, most recently the Wisconsin Air National Guard.
