Former reporter held for infringing upon state interests

A former reporter has been arrested for allegedly infringing upon state interests, HCMC police said Saturday.
Nguyen Hoai Nam, 48, is being investigated for Abusing democratic freedoms to infringe upon the interests of the State, lawful rights and interests of organizations and/or citizens.
Nam, a former reporter at Thanh Nien (Youth), Phap Luat TPHCM (HCMC Law), Vietnam Television and Phap Luat Viet Nam (Vietnam Law), had previously posted on his Facebook account several articles opposing police investigations into violations at Vietnam Inland Waterways Administration, which resulted in the arrest of its former deputy head Tran Duc Hai in 2019.

Vietnamese financial authorities have warned the public about the risks of cryptocurrency investment, as the industry is not regulated in Vietnam, local news agency Thanh Nien reported Wednesday.
The Ministry of Finance of Vietnam stated, âVietnam has not adopted any legislation related to the issuance, trading, and exchange of virtual currencies and virtual assets.â
The ministry stated that digital currencies are not part of Vietnamese securities laws and that there are only two exchanges, Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange and Hanoi Stock Exchange, that are allowed to trade securities in Vietnam.

Clip expresses gratitude toward doctors in COVID-19 fight

A video clip comprising a series of paintings by children on doctors, who are called intimately as white blouse warriors during the COVID-19 fight, has been published recently by the Ministry of Health.
The paintings by child artists are part of a campaign initiated by the Vietnamese Ministry of Health and United Nations Children s Fund (UNICEF).
They depict doctors as white-blouse soldiers who have relentlessly fought against the pandemic, through which children’s gratitude toward health workers is expressed.

Hanoi reports case of COVID-19 relapse
A patient has tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 again after being given the all-clear, the Hanoi Centre of Disease Control (CDC Hanoi) said on February 25.
The 48-year-old patient, who resides in Dich Vong ward in Cau Giay district, has been taken to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases for further quarantine and treatment.
The case does not pose any risk of community transmission, Deputy Director of CDC Hanoi Khong Minh Tuan said.
Hanoi had reported 36 COVID-19 cases between January 27 and 12pm on February 25, according to the municipal Department of Health.
