Eight positive cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Thurso during the latest seven-day period covered by Public Health Scotlandâs interactive dashboard.
The online resource has a map giving the number of positive cases in specific Scottish neighbourhoods , seven of which are within Caithness.
The latest figures from the national agency show Thurso East and Thurso West each had four positive cases during the period from December 13-19.

Miller Academy Primary School, Thurso, has been closed early for the Christmas holidays due to two new positive cases of Covid-19.
The school, along with the Early Learning and Childcare, and the Scope child learning programme, was closed today (Monday) for pupils as a precautionary measure.
A Highland spokesperson said: âWe are aware of three positive cases of Covid-19 at Miller Academy Primary. NHS Highlandâs Health Protection Team (HPT) are investigating potential close contacts therefore we have made the decision to close the school as a precautionary measure.

The latest schools to be affected are Miller Academy and Thurso High School.
A Highland Council spokeswoman said: âWe are aware of a confirmed case of a staff member at Miller Academy, a pupil at Thurso High School, and a separate case of a staff member at Thurso High School. A group of individuals from both schools have been advised to self-isolate for 10 days by Health Protection Scotland. Letters were issued to parents. All necessary action has been taken at the school and the setting remains open.

A number of local pupils have been told to self-isolate after cases of Covid-19 were confirmed at two Thurso schools â Miller Academy and Thurso High School.
