CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â The City of Corpus Christi is calling into question a piece of land being developed in Flour Bluff. A neighbor is concerned it can spell doom for the economy.
Vahid Nazari said he owns the property at 557 Yorktown Blvd. He plans to build a residential area. Neighbors reached out to their city councilman wondering what was going on when construction began in the empty lot.
Councilman Greg Smith said he came to find out the city wasnât aware of any construction going on there. On Wednesday, a stop work order was put up at the work site.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â The regularly scheduled local COVID-19 news conference is streaming today, April 15.
This joint conference is held by the City of Corpus Christi and the Nueces County Health District. They are briefing the public on the COVID-19 pandemic.

City officials are requesting only one media representative from each outlet attending. This is not a public gathering.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas City County Public Health Director Annette Rodriguez says the recommendation coming down from the FDA and CDC to stop administering the Johnson and Johnson vaccine creates a small set back towards achieving herd immunity for the Coastal Bend.
“This vaccine is one and done we were looking forward to saying all these people are completely vaccinated with the one dose just for the hopes that we can get closer to herd immunity, so we do worry,” said Rodriguez.
