More Candidates File to Run for City and School Board
SAN ANGELO, TX – Two more San Angeloans filed to run for city government on Thursday, the day before the final day to file.
According to the City of San Angelo s Public Information Office, on Feb. 11, Dietrick Tillis and Cie Rangel filed to run for seats on the council.
Tillis will run against Brenda Gunter in the Mayoral race. Also in this fight will be Silvara Lawson.
Rangel, just like Tillis, will join a race with multiple candidates. In Single Member District 2 the incumbent, Tom Thompson, has filed along with Mercedes Dela Cruz.
Third San Angeloan Files to Take on the Establishment
SAN ANGELO, TX A third person filed to run against a current city council member on Friday city officials confirmed.
According to the City of San Angelo’s Public Information Office, on Feb. 5, the third citizen in San Angelo has filed to run against a current member of the City Council.
The first person to file against an incumbent was Silvara Lawson. She is attempting to dethrone Mayor Brenda Gunter. Lawson filed on Jan. 15, two days after the first day of filing. Fifty-four current hospitalizations were also reported.

TOM GREEN COUNTY, Texas The City of San Angelo Public Information Office said there were 38 new confirmed COVID-19 cases for Saturday – 10 PCR and 28 antigen - for Tom Green County.
The cases included residents from Tom Green, Coryell, Crockett, Schleicher and Travis counties.
There were 54 current hospitalizations included in the report.
The City has reported a total of 15,655 positive cases, of which 1,144 are active.
The City previously confirmed three additional COVID-19-related deaths in Tom Green County.
Daily Covid-19 Infections Surpass 160 Thursday
SAN ANGELO, TX – More than 160 Covid-19 infections were confirmed in Tom Green County on Thursday.
According to the City of San Angelo s Public Information Office, on Jan. 14, the San Angelo s Health Department reported another 165 new positive COVID-19 infections.
That brings Tom Green County s total count since March to 14,470. There are 119,200 residents in Tom Green County.
There are currently 102 COVID-19 patients in the hospital. Yesterday Shannon reported 106 patients in the hospital.
There are currently 1,678 infections of COVID-19 in Tom Green County.

SAN ANGELO, TX – Covid-19 Hospitalizations in Tom Green County continue to rise according to Friday s numbers.
According to the City of San Angelo s Public Information Office, on Jan. 8, the San Angelo s Health Department reported another 140 new positive COVID-19 infections.
That brings Tom Green County s total count since March to 13,875. There are 119,200 residents in Tom Green County.
There are currently 108 COVID-19 patients in the hospital. Yesterday Shannon reported 93 patients in the hospital.
Yesterday there were 2,108 active cases in Tom Green County. The City s Public Information Office will release more information later today.
