The Town of Tonawanda Police Department is mourning the loss of one of their own to cancer. Lieutenant Christine Milosich died March 1 after a brave fight with cancer. She was 39 years old. Milosich was hired by the town in 2008 and became the first female to be promoted to lieutenant in the Town of Tonawanda Police Department.  Milosich championed the department s Community Services Program and residents often saw her on the Town of Tonawanda Facebook page doing Facebook live videos.

(WKBW) — The Town of Tonawanda Police Department is looking for information in connection to a shooting in the area of Kenmore Avenue and Truesdale Road on Friday night. According to Chief James Stauffiger, the attack happened around 10 p.m. A 53-year-old man was shot in the chest. The man was found by police and taken to the hospital. Chief Stauffiger reported the man s injuries were not life-threatening. Information on any potential suspect or suspects has not been provided, and police are asking anyone with information on the attack to call the department s confidential tip line. 3 tractor trailers damaged in 3 separate incidents after hitting City of Tonawanda bridges WGRZ Staff © City of Tonawanda Police Department damaged truck The City of Tonawanda Police Department says three different trucks have been damaged over the past week from three separate incidents involving trucks hitting bridge overpasses.  Police say the first incident happened on Wednesday around 5:30 p.m., when a tractor trailer, loaded with pallets of empty liquor bottles, hit the Young Street bridge. The tractor trailer, driven by Brain Toomer, 59, of Ohio was on its way to a distillery when the incident occurred. The crash split the trailer in half, according to police.
