BATAVIA, N.Y. (WKBW) â The City of Batavia Police Department announced it has launched CRIMEWATCH, a website that allows those who use social networks and mobile devices a way to help fight crime and stay informed.
Officials say the website gives the public direct access to crime and public safety-related information in the community.
âThis new website is the perfect entry point for establishing better police and public relationships. CRIMEWATCH gives us the opportunity to communicate with the public and gives residents the anonymity to report neighborhood issues. Several police departments throughout the north-east region are having great success using this technologyâ, said Chief Heubusch, City of Batavia Police Chief.
BATAVIA â Itâs a plan the âHoliday Manâ most likely would have approved of this time of year.
Area residents plan to meet at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot at Ficarellaâs Pizzeria, 21 Liberty St., before taking a ride around Batavia in vehicles they decorated for Christmas, then returning to Ficarellaâs, where Santa and Mrs. Claus will make an appearance around 6 p.m.
Members of the Facebook group Bobâs Christmas Car Day are encouraging community members to decorate their vehicles and join the group as it spreads some holiday cheer in honor of Bob âHoliday Manâ Zeagler, the Bobâs Christmas Car Day page says.
