Emerald City Comic Con returns to Seattle in December

SEATTLE - Emerald City Comic Con, one of the country s largest comic cons, will return to Seattle in December after COVID-19 forced organizers to cancel it last year.
The four-day pop culture extravaganza will be held Dec. 2-5 at the Washington State Convention Center downtown.
Vendors and headliners haven t been announced yet, but more details are expected as the event planning continues.
Past headliners have included actors Christopher Lloyd, George Takei, Rainn Wilson and scores of other stars.
The annual event is typically held in the spring, but the early stages of the coronavirus prevented it from happening last year.

Florida Supercon, Seattle s Emerald City Comic Con and Chicago s C2E2 will also have in-person conventions a year after COVID-19 shuttered such gatherings.
More than a year after the coronavirus pandemic saw conventions across the world canceled or go virtual, a number are charting a path back to in-person events. ReedPop, the organizer behind New York Comic Con and other cons, has solidified plans for four in-person events this fall.
Florida Supercon will take place at Miami Beach Convention Center Sept. 10-12. New York Comic Con is set for the Javits Center from Oct. 7 Oct. 7-10. Emerald City Comic Con is set for Seattle s Washington State Convention Center Dec. 2-5. Meanwhile, The Chicago-based convention C2E2 will take place at McCormick Place Dec. 10-12.
