The federal lawsuit filed Monday says City Justice Center staff violated the constitutional rights of inmates by using tear gas on them and depriving them of water. The lawsuit names St. Louis Corrections Commissioner Dale Glass, City Justice Superintendent Adrian Barnes, Lt. Javan Fowlkes, six correctional officers and the City of St. Louis as defendants.

PORTLAND, Oregon People gathered on the field outside Revolution Hall Saturday evening, many carrying signs, to commemorate the death of George Floyd almost one year ago.
All seemed prepared to continue the fight for racial justice as they marched to protest the killing of Floyd by Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin.
They were called there by Rose City Justice, the group that led Portland s biggest marches after George Floyd s death last year. The group carries on nearly a year later.

ST. LOUIS Dale Glass, corrections commissioner for the City of St. Louis, will be resigning from his position at the end of the month.
During the visits, they said they heard firsthand accounts from detainees describing COVID-19 protocols, “inedible” food, lack of running water, rodents and fear of violent retaliation from staff, according to a news release from the mayor’s office.
