Federal funding announced for regional airports A dozen airports in southwest and south-central Kansas have received part of $17.46 million in federal transportation grants announced on Thursday by U.S. Senator Jerry Moran. The grants are primarily from crack seal repairs on runways and aprons, but also include funding for a couple of airport master plans and land acquistion. The largest project was $1.9 million for the design of a new terminal building in Garden City. Grant recipients in The News coverage area included: Anthony Municipal: $150,000 in reimbursement for acquiring 12.6 acres of land to enable the airport to control land use within the Runway 36 protection zone.
