Steve Grimmond took home a £163,720 salary, plus £37,794 in pension contributions, during 2019/20. A new study from the TaxPayers Alliance, their 14th annual Town Hall Rich List , has shown that 215 council staff across Scotland received more than £100,000, and a further 52 earned more than £150,000. Mr Grimmond is joined on the list by Eileen Rowand, Fife Council s executive director for finance and corporate services. Ms Rowand was paid a salary of £123,535, plus £30,266 into her pension, making her overall remuneration £153,801. Carrie Lindsay, the council s executive director for education and children s services, was paid the same amount as Ms Rowand. Michael Enston, executive director for communities, was paid £120,004, plus £30,266 in his pension, for an overall total of £150,270.

âRICH LISTâ: Find out how much Bucks Council bosses REALLY take home A COUNCIL boss “rich list” that revealed the top earners in the UK’s local authorities has been branded “out of date” by Bucks Council – but some of its employees still take home a tidy sum. Buckinghamshire Council said the Town Hall Rich List 2021 put out by the TaxPayers’ Alliance did not reflect the current earnings of its top team, adding since the new unitary authority was formed in April 2020 “fewer senior management posts” had been needed. Among the fat cats in the ‘rich list’ is Bucks Council’s chief executive Rachael Shimmin (pictured), who takes home a salary of £210,000, according to a council website.
Revealed: Seven council bosses in York earnt £100k or more last year A TOTAL of seven council employees in York took home £100,000 or more last year, it has been revealed. The CEO received the highest wage out of the group with £193,444, although a council spokesperson said the role had a base salary of £143,940 and the higher figure included payments in lieu of notice and outstanding holiday pay. The chief executive’s pay was closely followed by the unnamed Deputy Chief Executive & Director Customer & Corporate Services who earnt £128,150. In response to the information, the council said staff receiving top wages had been significantly reduced in an organisational restructure .
