Columbus, Ohio, is set to pay the family of Andre Hill $10 million after Hill was killed in December by a now-former police officer who has since been charged with murder.
The settlement of $10 million will come to a vote on Monday at the Columbus City Council, 10 WBNS reported.
“We understand that because of this former officer’s actions, the Hill family will never be whole,” Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein said. “No amount of money will ever bring Andre’ Hill back to his family, but we believe this is an important and necessary step in the right direction.”
