Teberebie Residents Receive Free Medical Care

  More than 500 residents of Teberebie, Domeabra, Nkwantakrom, and Acheampongkrom communities have benefitted from a free medical screening and primary medical care exercise organized by AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Mine at the Teberebie Community Health Centre. The exercise, which forms part of the Mine’s periodic medical outreach program, in collaboration with the Municipal Health Directorate of the Ghana Health Service and the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Assembly, was aimed at promoting good health and well-being in the communities in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 3). The Mine also used the occasion to hand over medical equipment to the Teberebie Community Health Centre and Adieyie Clinic. The items, valued in excess of GH₵600,000, included: Automated Wbc 3-Differential Hematology; L2800 Microscope; Benchtop High-Performance Centrifuge; Oxygen with trolley, mask and nasal tubes; and Gent-X Piston Compressor Nebulizer. 3 persons in police custody at Walawale test positive for COVID-19

+ Three persons in police custody in Walewale in the North East Region have tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The three were in a group of 10 who were being prepared for transfer to the Tamale prisons when a pre-departure COVID-19 test was conducted on them and the result confirmed the three as positive cases. They have since been quarantined in new police cells. The North East Regional Police Crime Officer, Superintendent Reuben Dugah who confirmed this to Graphic Online said the inmates were responding to treatment at the isolation center. The West Mamprusi Municipal COVID 19 team has since commenced contact tracing of persons and officers who have had contacts with the said inmates for their samples to be taken for testing.

Kofi Ofori taking the first dose. In a short address, the MCE urged members of the public not to panic but avail themselves when their time is due to take the vaccine. He said the proven leadership by the President and his close associates was enough proof of the safeness of the vaccine adding that all should partake of the exercise to help bring life to normalcy.
