Ketu North: Saint Anthony Hospital closed down partially over covid-19 infections

The Saint Anthony Hospital in Dzodze in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta region has been closed down partially by the hospital authorities due to the spread of the covid 19 virus in the area.
According to a press statement released and signed by Mr Raphael Tumawu, the hospital administrator on February 23, the authorities of the hospital deemed it necessary to close down the hospital partially in order to put things in place and strengthen the system effectively to have the virus under control.
Nkawkaw, the District Capital of the Kwahu-West Municipality in the Eastern Region has recorded the highest confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the municipality due to commercial activities that go on there.

Seventy-one new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the New Juaben South Municipality of the Eastern Region this year.
This brings the number of COVID-19 cases in the municipality to 484 with 18 deaths.
Speaking to the Daily Graphic in Koforidua, the Municipal Health Director, Dr Edmund Ekow Kaitoo, said the new cases covered the first 26 days of January.
Patients quarantined at home
Dr Kaitoo said because there was no isolation centre in the municipality, the patients had been advised to quarantine at home, where they were receiving treatment.
According to him, members of the Municipal COVID-19 Emergency Response Team of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) had been visiting the patients at home to offer them the necessary support.
