While the Prairies rated lower than other areas of the country in documented instances of antisemitism, community members are concerned about a number of Winnipeg incidents highlighted in a national report.
B nai Brith Canada released its
2020 annual audit of antisemitic incidents last week. The report gathers data on incidents of harassment, vandalism and violence against Jewish people in Canada.

Two faith-related summer camps are making changes because of uncertainties regarding pandemic restrictions.
Day camps are permitted to have up to 10 children indoors and outdoors, but overnight programs are not allowed under public health orders set to expire in late May.
Camp Arnes, an interdenominational Christian camp, has ruled out the possibility of regular programming at its site about an hour north of Winnipeg and will hold day camps in the city instead.
The likelihood of offering sleepover camping this summer is close to zero because of the rise in variants of concern, board chairman Garry Roehr said.

Oddly one of the most significant institutional purveyors of anti-Palestinian bias in Canada operates largely below the radar. The Jewish Federations of North America, an umbrella organization representing nearly 150 organizations across Canada and the U.S., is known for supporting domestic Jewish education and funding charity projects in Israel, however, a number of Jewish federations in Canada lobby for Canadians to join the IDF in possible violation of local laws, and have run campaigns to malign Palestinians and their Jewish advocates.
