Newark Man Arrested in Homicide Case
A Newark man has been charged in a December homicide case.
The Newark Division of Police said that 40-year-old Raymond Allen Inman is the primary suspect in an altercation that led to the death of 33-year-old Michael Scott Stoner.
Authorities said the on December 17, 2020 Stoner checked himself into Licking Memorial Hospital where he was found to have injured ribs and pneumonia resulting from the injury. Stoner died the next day.
The injuries came from an altercation a few weeks before on Hudson Avenue.
Inman is being held in the Licking County Justice Center on a murder charge. The case will go before the Licking County Prosecutor’s Office for review and possible additional charges.

COLUMBUS The Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission seized more than $29 million in illegal drugs resulting in 200 criminal charges and the indictment of 102 people in 2020.
The OOCIC total included the Licking, Muskingum and Guernsey Major Drug Interdiction Task Force that seized 24 pounds of cocaine and 45 pounds of methamphetamine with an estimated $3,397,816 street value.
A single traffic stop netted more than 40 pounds of methamphetamine and three handguns.
The task force also seized 12 firearms and $95,230 in cash. In all, 19 people were indicted on 45 criminal charges as a result of the task force.
The announcement was made Friday by Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, Gov. Mike DeWine and Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent in Charge Vance Callender.
