Bangladesh found them on the verge of a series defeat against hosts Sri Lanka after losing half of their side in the second innings on the fourth day while chasing a mammoth target in the second Test in Kandy on Saturday.
Bangladesh finished the day on 177-5 as they require 260 runs to win the second Test on the final day which looks very unrealistic in the current circumstances at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium wicket which produced help for the spinners from the third day.

Bangladeshi bowlers found them at the receiving end again after they could take only one wicket on the opening day of the second Test against Sri Lanka at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
Sri Lankan openers Dimuth Karunaratne and Lahiru Thirimanne made the best possible use of the visitors’ poor bowling effort as both of them struck hundreds and guided the hosts to score 291-1 in 90 overs at stumps of day one in Kandy.
Karunaratne struck 118 off 190 balls, his second successive hundred in the series while Thirimanne made an unbeaten 131 off 253 balls as the hosts are all set to make a gigantic first innings total against Bangladesh in the match.

Bangladesh finally opened its account in the ICC World Test Championship points table after they played a tame draw against hosts Sri Lanka in the first of the two-match Test series at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy on Sunday.
Tamim Iqbal scored an unbeaten 74 off 98 balls while skipper Mominul Haque made 23 not out as Bangladesh went to tea break on the fifth day scoring 100-2 in 33 overs in their second innings before rain forced the suspension of the third session’s play, forcing the match to end in stalemate.
