In the film, Natasha Romanoff (
Scarlett Johansson) reunites with her old crew, including Yelena Belova (
Florence Pugh) who trained in the Red Room at the same time as Natasha.

As we know that
Black Widow is set in the past, the end credits scene seems to tease something in the future, or at least present day in the MCU.
In the scene, Yelena is visiting Natasha’s grave (“daughter, sister, Avenger”) where she’s joined by Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (
Captain America: Civil War,
Black Widow focuses on the first steps Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) took in hiding out after the ratification of the Sokovia Accords. On the run from the U.S. government and separated from her friends, she instead winds up pulled back into family drama, explicitly the Red Room kind. A wayward package brings her back into the radius of Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), another defected Black Widow in need of her help; it turns out that while Natasha believed she had destroyed the Widow program entirely before fully defecting to SHIELD, it only morphed under a new methodology.

Like most middle chapters,
Fear Street 1978 struggles to stand on its own, rather than functioning primarily as a bridge between the trilogy’s first and final installments. The final 15 minutes of the film are inarguably its strongest, jumping forward back to 1994 as Deena and Josh exhume Sarah Fier’s hand at the tree where she was hanged, now the site of the Shadyside Mall, where Heather Watkins was murdered in the previous film. Braff and Pugh, who worked together on his short film
In the Time It Takes to Get There, were first seen together in public in April of 2019. In April, she showed her beau some love on his 46th birthday by sharing some photos of Braff along with a touching tribute.
Additionally in January, Braff also celebrated his ladylove for her special day, ringing her 25th birthday in with a sweet social media post.
Black Widow, meanwhile, is Pugh s introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie is set between the events of
Captain America: Civil War and
Avengers: Infinity War. It follows Johansson s Natasha as she and Pugh confront their past and the mysterious villain called Taskmaster, with the help of Rachel Weisz, who plays their surrogate mother, fellow Widow Melina Vostokoff, and David Harbour, who plays their father figure, Soviet supersoldier Red Guardian.
