Residents of Hope Village in Manchester are expressing gratitude to the National Road Operating and Constructing Company (NROCC) and its partners for making good on their commitment to replenish a fruit orchard in the community.
The Acting Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Mohammed Bello-Koko, has assured port users of the authority’s commitment to speedily resolve all teething challenges against the smooth implementation of the electronic call-up system.
Bello-Koko made the pledge while interacting with truck owners and drivers during his visit to the Lilypond Terminal in Ijora, for a firsthand assessment of the physical infrastructure built for the call-up system, which is domiciled in the terminal.
The visit, according to him, was to enable him re-evaluate the performance of the truck call-up system three months after it was deployed, and also engage directly with the service users to appreciate their concerns and bottlenecks arising from their subscription of the traffic management platform.

GRDC Managing Director
The Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) Board has announced Managing Director, Anthony Williams, is no longer working with the organisation.
GRDC Board Chair, John Woods, said current GRDC Company Secretary and Acting Managing Director, Cathie Warburton, would continue in the interim while an executive recruitment campaign is put into action.
“GRDC is recognised internationally for spearheading cutting-edge research, development and extension in agriculture.
“For over three decades, the corporation has been driving innovation and best practice in Australia’s grain sector and is a significant contributor to the Australian economy – the second largest agricultural sector.”

Maritime security experts under the aegis of the ‘’Support for West African Maritime Security’’ (SWAIMS), has identified electronic management control, deepening of International Ships and Ports Facility Security ISPS Code compliance and sustenance, security surveillance and deterrence as critical areas of concern.
According to a statement signed recently by the General Manager, Corporate & Strategic Communications of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Mrs. Folaseni Alakija, the group stated this during a courtesy visit to the agency and pledged to partner the Authority to address maritime security and safety within the country’s waters.
“The group, affiliated to the European Union, provides support to ECOWAS Countries and Mauritania in the drive to fight against piracy and related crimes in the sub-region offered its technical assistance on the anti-piracy and nautical security services, among others.
