The founder of Jim s Mowing has unleashed on the Victorian Government over the seven-day Covid lockdown, declaring they have destroyed businesses and lives .
Jim Penman wrote the open letter following the Government s decision to plunge the state into its fourth major lockdown in 12 months from 11.59pm on May 27.
He addressed Acting Premier James Merlino and claimed the Government closed the state because of your incompetent handling of quarantine and mismanagement of Covid-19 cases .
The letter comes after Mr Merlino and Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton were unclear about whether garden maintenance workers could operate during the shutdown. I know personally of two franchisees who had suicide attempts in their families in the last lockdown, Mr Penman fumed in his open letter.

Victoriaâs acting premier has asked for Australian Defence Force members to help with the latest coronavirus outbreak in the state.
The state recorded four community cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours as it starts its âcircuit-breakerâ lockdown.
There is âadditional assistanceâ the state needs, and Acting Premier James Merlino said he contacted the Prime Minister on Friday.
âWeâll be putting a formal request through for additional ADF staff, so the request for 160 ADF staff for at least the next fortnight,â Mr Merlino told reporters duri

Victoria s Acting Premier James Merlino has urged all Victorians to get vaccinated as soon as possible, with primary and secondary contacts of the Melbourne cluster having jumped to more than 15,000 people.
Victoria reported four new local COVID-19 infections on Friday morning, hours after the state plunged into a week-long lockdown and as authorities continued to scramble to contain an outbreak now at 30 cases.
There are 1,452 people now identified as primary contacts - or close contacts - associated with the Whittlesea and Port of Melbourne outbreaks, with one person the link between the two.
Authorities have said the state is dealing with the highly infectious B161 variant, which was first detected in India.
