Turkey has called on the world to act to stop the Israeli violence against the Palestinians in Jerusalem and informed that its initiatives would continue to this end as hundreds of Palestinians were injured in fresh attacks on May 10.
“The world must act to stop this never-ending Israeli aggression against unarmed civilians in their own land,” İbrahim Kalın, spokesman and chief foreign policy advisor to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, tweeted on May 10.
“Israel must stop attacking Palestinians in Jerusalem and prevent the occupiers/settlers from entering the Holy Mosque. Israel bears sole responsibility for any violence,” he said.

The United Nations has expressed concern over the imminent eviction of dozens of Palestinians by Israeli authorities from Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in the occupied East Jerusalem al-Quds.
In a statement on Thursday, UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Tor Wennesland said the world body is concerned by the eviction of desperate Palestinian families under an Israeli court ruling.

United Nations, May 7 (Prensa Latina) UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Tor Wennesland, on Thursday conveyed his deep concern about the surge in tensions and violence in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan. In a statement, Wennesland stressed that Israeli Security Forces (ISF) must exercise maximum restraint and use lethal force only when strictly unavoidable in order to protect life. In the past few days alone, two Palestinians, including a woman and a child, were killed in separate incidents, by Israeli security forces (ISF) in the context of clashes or attacks. An Israeli was killed by a Palestinian in a drive-by shooting and several others injured. Perpetrators of violence on all sides must be held accountable and swiftly brought to justice.

I urge Israel to cease demolitions and evictions, in line with its obligations under international humanitarian law, said Wennesland in a statement.
