Minister for Large and Medium Industries Jagadish Shettar has said that Union Minister for Commerce Industry Piyush Goyal has responded positively to the request by the State government to utilise the oxygen produced within the State and the Centre will give the required permission soon.
Addressing presspersons in Hubballi on Thursday after holding a review meeting on COVID-19 situation, Mr. Shettar said that the Union government has responded positively to the State’s request and increased the oxygen quota from 965 tonnes to 1,015 tonnes now.

Minister for Large and Medium Industries Jagadish Shettar has said that efforts are on to get further allocation of medical oxygen for the State and for the purpose, the State is in regular touch with Railway Minister Piyush Goyal.
Speaking at a review meeting on COVID-19 scenario in Dharwad district and lockdown implementation, at the Hubballi Circuit House on Monday, Mr. Shettar said that a coordinated effort involving all Deputy Commissioners of the districts is being done to ensure systematic and timely supply of oxygen for COVID-19 treatment.
Minister says steps being taken to increase medical facilities for COVID-19 patients
Minister for Large and Medium Industries Jagadish Shettar has said that the Health Department had been instructed to conduct door-to-door visits and distribute medical kits meant for preventing COVID-19 to every family in Dharwad district.
Speaking at an outdoor review meeting conducted on the Circuit House premises in Dharwad on Friday, Mr. Shettar said that steps were being taken to further increase the healthcare facilities and medical infrastructure for COVID-19 patients in the district.
The Minister said that two senior officials would be coordinating and monitoring the distribution of medical kits in urban and rural areas of the district. To ensure success of the campaign, gram panchayat staff, ASHAs, beat police, and if necessary local NGOs will also be involved, he said.
