05/03/2021 On Monday night, ESPN is airing a Marvel-themed alternate NBA broadcast of the Golden State Warriors-New Orleans Pelicans game on ESPN2 and ESPN+, but the standard game feed is still available on ESPN. On Tuesday, they’re going one step further in corporate synergy with other Disney-owned properties, turning their entire regular MLB feed of the Houston Astros-New York Yankees game on ESPN into a Star Wars theme. Star Wars Day: Disney release brand new content to celebrate May 4. (PA) Today, (May 4th) marks Star Wars Day, an unofficial commemorative day to celebrate the Star Wars franchise, created by George Lucas. To help fans celebrate, Disney+ is releasing brand new Star Wars content on its streaming platform. Disney own the franchise after buying Lucasfilm in 2012, the company responsible for the story of Luke Skywalker. Disney+ will release a brand-new original Star Wars series, “ Star Wars: The Bad Batch” a first-of-its-kind Star Wars-themed short from The Simpsons and multiple themed cinematic experiences in celebration of a galaxy far, far away.
