The Mandalorian on Disney+, but this year, we think it would be nice to unplug a little bit. That’s why we’re loving these Star Warsboard games on Amazon. Sure, you can play them today, but what we really love is that these interactive games bring the Star Wars universe to life every time you open the box.

It’s been much talked about as of late, but the “real” lightsaber Disney’s been working on has remained very tightly under wraps. Until now, that is. On this May the 4th, we finally have a first glimpse at the “real” lightsaber. And it certainly is the briefest of looks. However, that doesn’t mean it’s not the most impressive practical lightsaber we’ve ever seen. The 13-second clip simply features an actor as Rey activating the lightsaber. So we don’t know what else it can do, per se. But at least we don’t
think it can easily slice through most objects.
(Pocket-lint) - Disney has developed a real-life lightsaber and, of course, chose May the Fourth as the day to show it off and promote its impending release.
The company has been teasing a lightsaber since April, and now, it s published a video showing the saber in action. It s not a flimsy toy. It s a retractable illuminated blade that beams outward from the hilt. The video is short, and the announcement provides no insight into how the saber works. But there are existing patent filings from Disney that suggest it works almost like a motorised tape measure, consisting of plastic and LED lights.

The Star Wars-themed telecast is in celebration of “May the fourth” and features ESPN commentators dressed in full costume as Star Wars characters, plus custom on-screen animations. Karl Ravech, dressed as Luke Skywalker, will provide commentary with analysts Tim Kurkjian (as Yoda) and Eduardo Perez (as a Jawa). Marly Rivera will report from Yankee Stadium.
