Star Wars-related madness coming our way tonight via Disney s Investors Day, you may have missed the official announcement that
The Mandalorian will return for its third season in 2021.
No specific date was set, but the live-action
Star Wars series will be available to stream on Disney+ around this time next year.
To coincide with the news, Lucasfilm released a new trailer which serves as a recap of the events of season 2 so far. The clip features some of the most epic moments of the past few episodes, including Ahsoka Tano and Bo-Katan s live-action debuts, and Boba Fett donning his iconic armor to lay waste to some Stormtroopers.

Disney on Thursday held a four-hour presentation called Investor Day, in which the company laid out the plan for their post-pandemic future with Disney+, as well as Disney’s planned theatrical releases.
The company announced a huge subscriber number for Disney+, took the wraps off a huge number of projects for that streaming service connected to
Star Wars, Marvel, and numerous other established Disney projects. The company also announced a new
Wonder Woman director will helm a new Lucasfilm story that follows that different pilots across
Star Wars universe. Jenkins released a brief video detailing her excitement for the new story, which ends with her donning the iconic pilot uniform and helmet.
As
Variety notes, this new project make Jenkins the first woman to direct a Star Wars film. This is the second time she has managed such a record-setting feat, as she was also the first woman to direct a movie with a budget over $100 million. Women have previous been part of the directing team, which is the case for Victoria Mahoney, who was the second unit director on
